Each course consists of 50 hours.
The courses are mainly for exchange scholarship students (Erasmus or exchange programmes organized by the Ufficio Affari Internazionali) enrolled at Pavia University in regular university courses of study, but also for any other foreign student who wish to attend the course.

LEVELS:

I SESSION and III SESSION COURSES: Three levels (beginner, elementary, intermediate).

II SESSION COURSE: Two levels (elementary, intermediate).

IV SESSION COURSE: Three levels (elementary, intermediate, upper-intermediate).

Students wishing to enrol will have to:

• Fill in the attached enrolment form (download.pdf version)
• Pay the course fee by wire/bank transfer addressed to the Università degli Studi di Pavia, Corso Strada Nuova n. 65, 27100 Pavia, Italy. Bank details: Banca Regionale Europea, IBAN: IT08U0690611301000000046566, SWIFT: BLOPIT22XXX. Please indicate "Corso di lingua italiana" as the reason for payment
• Send the enrolment form and the payment receipt to the address indicated on the form
• Take a placement test on the first day of the course (the purpose of this test is to assign students to the appropriate level).
• FEES:
  
  Students will be required to pay a fee:
  
  - The course fee amounts to € 25 for Erasmus students attending university in one of the following new Member States of the European Union: Bulgaria, Romania, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Slovenia, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Poland, Hungary and Malta;
  - The course fee amounts to € 80 for other Erasmus students and exchange scholarship students between the University of Pavia and the following foreign Universities: Universidad Nacional de San Martín (Argentina), University of Sydney (Australia), Universidade Federal da Bahia (Brasil), Tokushima Bunri University (Japan), Northern Arizona University (USA), University of Oregon (USA), San Francisco State University (USA), ISEP Program (USA), Universität Konstanz (Germany), Coimbra Group (Europe);
  - All the other students will be required to pay a fee of € 250.
  
  
  The exact time of the placement test and the course timetable will be available a few days before the beginning of the courses.
  
• CERTIFICATES:
  
  A certificate of attendance will be issued only to those students who have attended at least 40 hours of the course.
  No credits will be given at the end of the course since there is no final examination.
  

Please notice that:

• all foreign students studying at Pavia University are allowed to use the self-study facilities (media library and language lab) available in the"Centro Linguistico Laboratori" (Monday-Friday 9.00-13.00 and 14.00-16.30)
• The Centro Linguistico is an authorized centre for the CILS (Certificazione di Italiano come Lingua Straniera - i.e. Certificate of Italian as a Foreign Language). The CILS certificate can be used for academic or professional purposes and is recognized by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
