First duties

Within few days from the beginning of the school, each student must:

  • choose the curriculum and the tutor who will supervise the reasearch activities;
  • in agreement with the tutor, define in principle the research subject;
  • in agreement with the tutor, define the educational program for the first year, in accordance with the educational regulation that has been approved by the board of the school;
  • fill in the appropriate form with the research subject, the name of the tutor and the educational program, which has to be approved by the board of the school;

The tutor must be choen within the teaching staff (full professors, associate professors, assistent professors) belonging to the departments that support the school. Customarily, the student will carry on his/her reaserch activity in the tutor's laboratory. The tutor must suggest and orientate the educational and research activity of the student and he/she has tomanage the funds that are at each student's disposal. The tutor's approval is necessaryfor whatever request that the student submits to the board of the school or to the coordinator. The tutor can be changed upon authorization by the board of the school.

The educational program can be changed during the year. This adjustment can be made by compiling a new form that has to be submitted to the coordinator for approval. It is not allowed to gain credits or to use the allocated funds for attending courses or schools that have not been approved before.

Periodic duties

In October, the first and second year students are to udergo an aevaluation process for the admission to the next year of course. They must

  • provide the coordinator with a short written report about the activity that has been done during the previous year;
  • present and discuss about their research activity in front of a specific academic board that has been selected by the board of the school.

Within a few days from the admission to the next year of course, the students must present a new one-year educational program and they must fill in the usual form in which the number of credits already acquired. At the beginning of the third year, the foreseen educational activity must comprehend the final acquisition of 30 credits.
