After
achieving her school-leaving certification in scientific subjects, Dr. Giardina
graduated in Biology in 2003 and in 2005 achieved her specialist degree
in Experimental and Applied Biology at the University of Pavia, obtaining
both degrees with full marks.
Throughout her academic studies she worked part-time for the University,
and precisely at the Natural Science Museum and at the Physics Library.
Dr. Giardina is currently working with Prof. Marzatico on different research
projects, focusing on oxidative stress and on the study of markers of free
radical-induced biological damage, as well as on endogenous and exogenous
antioxidant powers and on skin protection from chronoaging and photoaging.
