Gorbaciov: dalla crisi di efficienza alla crisi di sopravvivenza

Summary — The author intends to stress how the economic policies put into effect by Gorbaciov, beginning from 1985, are characterised by uncertainties and ambiguity such as to transform the economic crisis into a crisis of survival of the whole system.

The article recalls synthetically the systemic constraints inherited by Gorbaciov (extensive growth, burocratic rigidity, aversion for innovation, etc.) and analyses the adverse effects of the reform of the industrial enteprise (1987) first on the financial equilibria (inflation) and after on the whole economy (productive fall). These effects transferred very quickly to the political system stressing the loss of its legitimacy.
