LUCIANO AMODIO

«Fine della storia» hegeliana o post-hegeliana?

Considerazioni sulle tesi di Fukuyama

N. 165

Summary — The author discusses the main thesis presented by F. Fukuyama with regard to the "end of history". The A. points out that F’s thesis depends heavily on a particular interpretation of the Hegelian philosophy of history. He also remarks that the advent of democracy as a universally shared model is understood by F as a struggle for a mutual acknowledgement and not in terms of Lockean property rights theory. F’s thesis is viewed as the consequence of the collapse of Communist regimes and Marxist ideology, and criticized for being an apology of the existing order.
