"Il New Deal nella pubblicistica politica italiana dal 1933 al 1938"

This essay describes the New Deal and the Roosevelt´s policy, as they were perceived by the Italian political and economical observers in the 30´s. The Great Depression characterising the 30´s and the Roosevelt´s presidency were subject to careful and varied analyses by many Italian journalists and scholars. The extraordinary richness, variety and many-sidedness of the opinions expressed by the Italian authors is to be stressed. The afore said literature is, mostly, intellectually free and objective. Wherever and whenever the contamination of fascist propaganda is perceivable, it does not exert an hostile influence towards the New Deal and Roosevelt: particularly during his first presidency, 1923-36, a positive and sometimes enthusiastic judgement prevails. The common opinion about the affinities between the reformation aimed at by the Fascism and the programme of extension of federal power that Roosevelt was building at the time, is well-founded.
