"La dinamica degli studenti di Scienze Politiche (1925-1996)"
The development of student enrollments at the Faculty of Political Science can be divided into four phases. In the first phase (1925/26-1940/41), the faculty created its own space within the Pavian university system: the weight of its student numbers, relative to that of the University as a whole, increased from 1.3% to 10%. In the second phase (1948/49-1969/70), which culminated in the law guaranteeing free access to university places, the average number of students enrolled more than quadrupled (to about 260). There then followed 15 years in which the Faculty was able to count on a student population of over 900, and, finally, the last decade, which has seen a strong expansion (about 2400 now enroll each year), but also a strong increase in the number of students failing to complete courses on time (about a third), the number of those who have succeeded in obtaining a degree (a little over 3,200) is only slightly more than a quarter of the number of first year enrollments over these last 70 years.
