The demographic situation
of Northern Africa is a complex matter.
To completely understand it we traced
its historical origins, sketched its population
evolution, and analyzed the recent
transitional and migratory processes since
the second half of the last century to nowadays.
We used a comparative perspective
and placed our investigation in the context
of the international events involving Europe,
Sub-Saharan Africa and the Middle
East.
