Valeria Speziali received the Laurea degree in Electronic Engineering (cum
laude) in 1973 from the University of Pavia, Italy, where, after
graduating, she always worked. In 1981 she joined the Department of
Electronics as Assistant Professor in Electronics and in 1987 she became
Associate Professor. She is presently Full Professor at Pavia University,
where she teaches Electronic Measurements and Electronic Instrumentation.
She is the head of the Electronic Instrumentation research group of the
Department of Electronics. Since 2001 she is a member of the Scientific and
Technical Committee of LENA (Laboratory of Applied Nuclear Energy) of the
University of Pavia.
Her main research activities are focused on acoustical and laser methods
for respiratory sounds measurements, optoelectronic link for analog signal
from solid state detectors in high energy physics, design of low noise
front-end electronics, effects of ionising radiation on the noise
properties of monolithic circuits, instrumentation for high precision
measurements.
She is author of about 175 papers, most of which published in international
journals or conference proceedings.
She is a Senior Member of Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers
(IEEE).
