"The conference brings together the international community of specialists in many disciplines working with degraded DNA. Scientists interested in this field or related areas are invited to join the conference and contribute to it. The conference will emphasize especially applications in the following topics: - Forensics - Conservation Genetics - Anthropology - Population Genetics - Methodology - Environmental monitoring - Archaeometry - Palaeopathology - Histopathology Suggestions for additional topics are welcome. FEES: The conference fee is US$100.00 prior to March, 31, 1997. Students (legitimation necessary at the conference!) pay a reduced fee of US$70.00. After March 31 the fee will be US$130.00 (no reduction at that time). Refund on cancellation after March 31 will be 60%. After May 15, 20% refund on cancellations. TRAVEL: Gottingen is situated in the midlands, just in the center of Germany. Travellers from abroad have easy access from the airport Frankfurt/Rhein-Main. The airport and the Frankfurt main train station are connected by convenient public transportation running every 10-15 minutes. hours by Inter City Express trains running every 30 minutes. ACCOMODATION: Accomodation is available at standard middle class European Hotels (ca. DM 60-150 per night). The Gottingen tourist office will send a form for hotel reservations to those interested in participating. There are no accomodations at student's dormitories. Youth hostel space is available but may be limited during summer months.
