This database contains data about diploid genome size (DNA pg, cytochemically
determined by Feulgen stain on lymphocytes from peripheral blood smears),
chromosome number and fundamental number of several species of mammals
(these last data mainly come from the literature).
Great part of these genome size data (mainly that for Chiroptera, Rodentia
and Primates) comes from researches done since many years in the laboratory
of Histology, Embriology and Anthropology of our Dept.
of Animal Biology. 7 pg is the reference value here considered
for Homo sapiens.
