How to reach STRESA
Stresa lies on the west shore of the Lago Maggiore, in northern
Italy, about 80 km north-west of Milan. Stresa is at the centre of a well known
touristical region, favored by the great beauty of the lake and the surrounding
mountains, the mild climate, the luxurious vegetation, and the many natural
and historical attractions. In front of Stresa, connected by a frequent boat
service, lie the famous Borromean Islands

Stresa lies on the international
railway line Milano-Domodossola-Brig (continuing to Geneva or Basel), which
is served by frequent IC and EC trains. Ride time from Milano to Stresa is approximately
one hour.

Stresa can be reached via
the two international airports serving the city of Milano: Linate and Malpensa.
Participants arriving by plane at Milano-Linate airport can reach Milano Central
Railway Station by the non-stop bus operated by SEA and departing right in front
of the arrival exit (tickets for both bus and train in the arrival hall).
Participants arriving at Milano-Malpensa Airport (40 km south of Stresa) can
take the trains (please visit the train web site ) of the Milano-Domodossola
line at the Railway Station of Gallarate (near the Airport-bus service). In
the evening, the best way is to take a taxi to Gallarate and then a train to
Stresa

Participants coming by car from Italy can reach Stresa either
from Milano (highway A8 - Autostrada dei Laghi) or from Genova and Torino (highway
A26). Follow direction Gravellona Toce, exit Carpugnino or Gravellona. If entering
Italy through Switzerland, either via Brig-Simplon or Gotthard-Locarno, you
are already on the way to Stresa: just follow direction "Milano".
