How to reach STRESA

Stresa lies on the west shore of the Lago Maggiore, in northern Italy, about 80 km north-west of Milan. Stresa is at the centre of a well known touristical region, favored by the great beauty of the lake and the surrounding mountains, the mild climate, the luxurious vegetation, and the many natural and historical attractions. In front of Stresa, connected by a frequent boat service, lie the famous Borromean Islands

...by train

Stresa lies on the international railway line Milano-Domodossola-Brig (continuing to Geneva or Basel), which is served by frequent IC and EC trains. Ride time from Milano to Stresa is approximately one hour.

...by plane

Stresa can be reached via the two international airports serving the city of Milano: Linate and Malpensa.
Participants arriving by plane at Milano-Linate airport can reach Milano Central Railway Station by the non-stop bus operated by SEA and departing right in front of the arrival exit (tickets for both bus and train in the arrival hall).
Participants arriving at Milano-Malpensa Airport (40 km south of Stresa) can take the trains (please visit the train web site ) of the Milano-Domodossola line at the Railway Station of Gallarate (near the Airport-bus service). In the evening, the best way is to take a taxi to Gallarate and then a train to Stresa

...by car

Participants coming by car from Italy can reach Stresa either from Milano (highway A8 - Autostrada dei Laghi) or from Genova and Torino (highway A26). Follow direction Gravellona Toce, exit Carpugnino or Gravellona. If entering Italy through Switzerland, either via Brig-Simplon or Gotthard-Locarno, you are already on the way to Stresa: just follow direction "Milano".
