Carlo Alberto Redi

Since 1993 has been full Professor of Zoology at the University of Pavia and head of the Laboratorio di Biologia dello Sviluppo.

1983 - 1992. Associate Professor of Developmental Biology at the University of Pavia;

1975 - 1982. Encharged Professor of Developmental Biology at the University of Pavia;

1972 - 1975. Researcher at the Department of Animal Biology, University of Pavia;

1972. Degree in Biological Sciences.

2000. Member of the commission for the study of the possible use of the stem cells for the therapy of human diseases, encharged by the Minister of Health.

2000. Member of the Olympus Foundation Sceince for Life.

2003. Member of the Accademia dei Lincei (NationalAcademy of Science).

1999. He received the National Prize of the President of the Italian Republic for Sciences from the Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei.

Coordinator of research grants from NATO, EC, Italian MURST, Italian CNR, Fondazione Lombardia per l’Ambiente, Provincia di Pavia, and private foundations (CARIPLO, Cassa di Risparmio delle Provincie di Piacenza e Vigevano, Olympus Foundation Science for Life, Millipore).

He is acting as referee for the following international Journals: Journal of Experimental Zoology; Evolution; Andrologia; Italian Journal of Zoology; Journal of Evolutionary Biology; Biological Journal of the Linnean Society; Chromosome Research; Cytogenetics and Cell Genetics; Experimental Cell Research.

Author of 125 papers published in international refereed Journals.
