Abandoned for over a hundred years in the cellar of the "Lazzaro Spallanzani" Institute of Zoology of Pavia University, but still with a beauty that fascinates the reader, notwithstanding the damaged borders and the mildew and damp-stains which have eroded the colours and whitened the background: these are the didactic zoological plates for the teaching of zoology in the second half of the nineteenth century, as we discover them anew today with the indelible signs of the passage of time.
