1. Why study Engineering in Pavia??

The Faculty of Engineering of the University of Pavia is one of the best  School of Engineering in Italy, renowned for its productive learning experience , highly qualified professors and connections with the industrial community. Therefore teaching and research activities are connected with the needs of the industrial and economical community.

Student-teacher ratio is 20:1 which lead to an easier and more direct student-teacher relationship.

The Faculty of Engineering has a campus where students and staff have access to all kind of services, from students canteens and library to sports facilities, which makes studying and working here a pleasant experience.

2. What I am going to study?

The Faculty of engineering offers a comprehensive engineering knowledge base covering subjects such us mathematics, physics, computer science, chemistry as part of specialized Bachelor and Master’s Degree Engineering Program such as Bioengineering, Civil and Environmental Engineering, Electronic and Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering.

Teaching and learning methods are varied and include lectures, workshops and laboratory classes. Students are given the opportunity to work on projects in experimental areas as well as to intern in a company.

3. What kind of people study Engineering?

This course of study is the right choice for students who particularly enjoy scientific studies but who are also aware of the changes in the world around them and have a problem solving attitude.

Engineering provides students with the opportunity to live in their community as important players.

4. Are you ready for engineering?

First-year in an Engineering Degree Course can be tough, a strong academic foundation in high school helps a lot, be sure to work on it.  Prospective students should feel ready to take the responsibility of working on their academic career both as individuals and as  Team Players.

5. How can I apply?

Students enrolling in a Bachelor’s Degree Course at the Faculty of Engineering are asked to take an evaluation test of their academic skills in mathematics and English language. If they gain a low score, students are required to work on those subject during their first semester and pass the connected exams, before tackling the rest of the workload.

Only students enrolling in Construction Engineering-Architecture Master’s Degree Course are asked to take an admission test. A low score could lead to a refusal of the student’s application.

6. What are the career opportunities of an Engineering Graduate?

The world we live in is in need of creative engineers with a strong analytical aptitude and  excellent technical knowledge. Our students work hard to develop these skills that are highly appreciated in the industrial and economical community.

An engineering could easily find a career in various industrial fields. The job market main request is for professionals able to work on complex technological and environmental systems, to organize and coordinate other’ s people work and to develop manufacturing and service processes.

7. When was the Faculty of Engineering founded in Pavia?

During the 16th century students enrolled in the Faculty of Philosophy in Pavia could choose to study subjects that were needed to become architects, plumbers and land surveyors. These were the first steps in developing a school of Engineering.

The Faculty of Engineering was officially founded in 1967.
