Specific course objectives
This is an introductory course to the health economics and management and is intended to provide the student an orientation and overview on managing organizations that directly provide health care.
The course will cover the following topics: history of National Health Service; regional and local models in health care; issues and strategies for health care organizations; information management; economic evaluation as applied to the health care sector, methods of economic evaluation, Health Technology Assessment and diffusion of medical technologies.
