Course name: Energetica elettrica (Lab.)
Course code: 062205
Degree course: Ingegneria Elettrica
Disciplinary field of science: ING-IND/32
L'insegnamento è caratterizzante per: Ingegneria Elettrica
University credits: CFU 5
Course website: http://www.unipv.it/energy/
Specific course objectives
The aim of the course is to provide knowledge in the field of energy management, oriented to solution of practical energy management problems. The course introduces the student to the analysis, development and resolution of problems like energy-management (e.g. technical and economic comparisons between different system solutions, electricity and heat tariffs, energy efficient consumption). This course includes a series of lectures, exercises, seminars and the development of a final group project (compulsory) on a specific topic within a broader research project. Students are organized into groups and are required to work both in the laboratory and at home. Some topics of interest: energy and environmental aspects in the production, transmission and use of compressed air, energy-efficient air conditioning in offices, renewable energies, etc.etc.
Course programme
Syllabus: 01 unit measures; 02. the energy storage and the Electric Vehicle: managing energy flows and sizing. 03. energy efficiency and Performance of industrial processes: technical-economical evaluation. 04. Energy savings and Insulation systems in the distribution of heat: insulation of walls and pipes. 05. CHP systems: reciprocating engine, gas turbine, steam turbine. 06. Air conditioning: technical and economic comparison between mechanical compressors and absorption systems. 07. Testing and exams
The exam is split up in two parts. Part1: two on going tests on PC consisting in solving a case study. Part2: the oral discussion of the group work (the assignment is made within the month of April). Those who fail the PC ongoing tests can access the final exam (a single PC-test on all the taught subject) and the oral. See also http://www.unipv.it/energy/web/modalita_esame_EEL.htm
