Specific course objectives
The course aims to provide students with the ability to handle software tools commonly used in the design and testing of telecommunication equipment. The purpose of this course is therefore to acquire the knowledge necessary to carry out simple projects using simulation software, choosing the appropriate methodology and estimate uncertainties with respect to the final project.

Basic concepts and features of MATLAB / Simulink
Fundamentals of MATLAB programming
Setting the parameters of a simulation and analysis of the results
Libraries of MATLAB / Simulink
Examples and design exercises in MATLAB / Simulink
Design of systems and components for telecommunication in MATLAB / Simulink
Course entry requirements
Complex numbers (Analysis) Differential and integral calculus (Maths)
Concepts of the spectrum, and Fourier transform (Signal Theory) Concepts of random variables, probability density function, mean, variance (Signal Theory) Analog modulation: AM, FM , PAM (Electrical Communications)
