Specific course objectives

The course is aimed at making students aware of the complexity and variety of communicative contexts in working places both in farms and professions.

Course programme

The course refers to human sciences as for the study and strategies when dealing with firm organization. In particular, it focuses on the cultural importance of organization in its social and human aspects, in order to promote efficiency and individual values. Therefore, it concerns the students’ future personal identity which, besides their technical skills, plays a vital role for their success.
Communicative techniques – not to be confused with technologies- refer to the theories concerning communicative and organization strategies, developed from the second half of XX century, which support individual motivation and help overcome conflicts in contexts requiring collaboration, sharing purposes and values, creativity and humanity.

The topics of the course are as follows:

  • Communication in working places: conceptual analysis, historical interpretation of firm organization as well as the interpersonal implications connected with status and role.
  • The organization development: analysis modes, knowledge and assessment for the development of a firm (O.D and Action Research).
  • Identity and interpersonal relations: communicative styles and types, techniques for management and taking part in work groups, working with the system.
  • The values of communicative techniques.
