Course programme

Urban planning and design
During the course the students will acquire the cultural basis, the operative instruments and the lessons from the history in relation with the urban scale design. Each year a specific theme will be developed during the laboratory; usually the application fields is an ex-industrial urban area. The main aim of the courses are to let students acquire awareness of the different themes that occur in urban design and local urban plans such as:

• morphological rules;
• contextualization;
• infrastructure and mobility issues;
• improvement of urban environment;
• economical awareness;
• normative framework
