Specific course objectives
Unit A: The aim of this course is to provide the student a basic knowledge of the principles of Information & Communication Technology Management in the sanitary field. To that end, learning will be reinforced through the explanation of the most common technologies and useful techniques during the various management phases. Every topic is developed through case study analysis.

Unit A - 1: Introduction Management phases;

Data Storage;
RAID architecture;
Relational DBMS (RDBMS); Database and Instance;
Network: Structured Wiring; TCP/IP basics; subnetting; routing; ARP; DHCP; switched Ethernet; wireless LAN;
Application Architecture: centralized, client/server, distributed; DNS service; directory service;
Security: firewall; IDP and IPS; VLAN; NAT; proxy;
cluster; working mechanism and typologies.

SLA definition; availability;
