Specific course objectives
Course programme
The course aims to deepen the relationship between the project and the history of architecture, investigating methods and the quality of development, within the context in which it is historically transformed, with the intention of providing a basic instrumentation which constitutes an essential critical time to exploit in design activity.
The aim of the course is to give students the ability to contextualize architects, buildings and artistic movements in the economic, political, religious and cultural contexts that has produced them, that is, the ability to move within the space-time coordinates and cause-effect relationships, decoding the language of architecture.
In this sense, the history of architecture, other than any notional dimension, it becomes a new key to the interpretation of the man – made world and plays a substantial role in the formation of the designer.
