Specific course objectives

Acquire knowledge of general information about mobile radio networks and current standards. Ability to understand the implementation choices based on channel, service and network target.

Basic techniques
Review of basic concepts for wireless transmission techniques.

  • Multiple access techniques. Spread spectrum. MUD. Rake. MIMO
  • Channel coding
  • Linear and non linear modulation
  • OFDM, OFDMA
  • Traffic theory review

Examples of real systems and implementation choices.
